Every traveller has a Phuket story to tell, and I have so many too. It is one place on earth that enchants and casts a spell on you. During my stay in the second leg of the Thailand trip, Phuket was kind enough to allow me to take back some life-long memories.

Phuket will enchant and cast a spell on you

My Phuket itinerary:
Big Buddha

A must-visit place in Phuket that offers a zen-like silence with the only sound heard is that of tinkling bells and fluttering of small Buddhist flags. This Big Buddha statue in Phuket is one of the most visited and revered places in the country. It offers a 360-degree panoramic view of the island and it takes a few minutes to behold the sight in front of you. The site gets crowded but is often peaceful, just like the spiritual icon it represents.

Hanuman World

Zip line your way through forests in Phuket. This rainforest adventure park offers zipline, skywalks, honeymoon swing, abseil and much more! The difficulty level is moderate, so all you first time adventure junkies, don’t sweat! Book in advance to avail hotel pick ups

Phuket Old Town

Grab a map, grab a coffee, explore the streets, and dive deep into its history. Phuket Old Town will surely amaze you. Sino-Portuguese style shophouses, cute cafes, colourful streets, Thai restaurants, and some new-age coffee shops – this is what makes this place so special. A homely feel is what everyone craves for, and that is found in abundance here. And for all those art connoisseurs, add this place to your Phuket itinerary so you don’t miss the street art that adorns the vicinity.

Wat Chalong Temple

The largest, most respected, and the most visited Buddhist temple in not just Phuket but entire Thailand is Wat Chalong. With the walls, ceilings exhibiting paintings based on Buddha’s life, the bird’s eye view from its terrace three storeys above makes you spot the Big Buddha. If you are the one who loves to collect souvenirs, the shops nearby will give you the best of Phuket.

Phuket FantaSea Show

Considered to be a Las Vegas-style Thai show, it combines grand sets, cutting-edge technology, and animal performances to showcase the Thai culture. Simply put, the show is a visual treat for the senses. The 4-D effects, acrobatics and the pyrotechnics are sure to give you an adrenaline rush. You can also book a pre-show dinner with your tickets. They have enough vegetarian options as well. Book here.

Phi Phi Islands

As picture-perfect as it can get, Phi Phi Islands are the ultimate getaways from Phuket that feature classic beaches, rock formations, and crystal-clear turquoise waters. To say the least, it’s a paradise! A group of six islands, Phi Phi houses stunning bays and beaches include the Maya Bay where Leonardo Di Caprio-featuring The Beach was shot. Enough reasons to pack your bags and head out, right? You’ll regret it if you miss this one out from your Phuket itinerary.

Someone famously said, “Wherever you go becomes a part of you somehow”. Well, Phuket will do this to you!
